Writing about Youtube starlets really pays off AND What's Tim reading today?

So writing about Ms. Lonelygirl15 has gotten me my first day of 200+ hits... You think I'll be writing about Youtube again soon? You were right! Forget about my "family" and "friends" who want to see "pictures of their loved ones."

As for what I'm reading... A novelization of the greatest film of all time. WILLOW!!!

  • I used to know all the lines to that movie.

...AND that's probably something I shouldn't admit. Oh well.

  • "Kiya, Kiya!"

    "Can we keep it mommy?"

    "Where's the Di-kini baby!"

Are there are any other awesmoe lines... I think they're only funny when read by a 2-foot-tall dwarf .

Did you know that Willow played the depressed robot in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? His real name is Warwick Davis.

  • how depressing it must be for little people actors. They get to do things like walk around slowly in a robot costume while Alan Rickman's voice work is the most memorable and important part of the role.

  • Oh, and the festival scene in the dwarf village is one of the finest scenes in movie history, from the great playing to the stilted magical ritual where Willow fails to gain an apprenticeship to the chase when that tough-ass little dwarf kills one of those evil dogs in dresses they made for the movie.

    George Lucas's best work.

  • They were warthogs, not dogs.

Madmartigan was the best part of that whole move. I love Val Kilmer - even when he's dirty and addicted to licorice root.

  • My bad. Apparently they were some kind of demon dog.

  • How do you people remember so much about this movie? It was good, I've seen it more than once, but I don't retain enough of it to even get details like whether it was a warthog or a dog wrong. Although, I suspect Tim was so inspired by the book that he downloaded a copy off the net.

  • My brothers and I watched Willow so much when we were kids that when we went camping and were bored we'd act the whole thing out for our parents.

You can bet they were thrilled they had a bunch of actors-in-the-making on their hands. Then I really depressed them by choosing journalism instead...

  • The best part of this thread?

Simon just wrote a scorching screed (illiteration?) against the profession of journalism while working as a professional journalist.

    AWESOME!

My website brings out the best in people!

  • Simon shaped a scorching screed severely scolding scribblers.

That's alliteration, mofos! Can you beat it?

And Grace, that is one of the gayest things I've ever heard. I bet your brothers are especially pleased that you're telling people about it.

  • Pass your judgement as you please.

I really doubt they're too concerned I'm sharing this information with the j-school bloggers club.

By Blogger Grace, at 1:58 PM

  • You're probably right, but at the current rate Tim's blog audience is growing it might not be the j-school bloggers club for long...

Ha, ha, yeah right. Although, I'm sure Tim believes he'll be an internet star in no time.

  • 230 hits a day! Yipee.

I'll have to produce more material with a broader audience than my family to keep it up.
