I spent ten minutes typing the fifty states of America and missed three

See if you can type the type the name of all 50 states in 10 minutes.

I got about 30 in the first two minutes and then struggled to picture the states where basketball and hockey teams come from to fill in the blanks.

I got 47 out of 50, and I won't tell you which ones I missed, because then you'll have a head start on the hard ones.

  • I got 44 out of 50. Worst part is, I knew what regions I was missing states from (the northeast and mid-west), I just couldn't think of them. They are also some of the most boring states, I mean, is Delaware really worth remembering?

  • Tim - I missed 14! And you know the worse part, most of those I have actually been to/driven through. And of course I got some I've never been to and have NO idea how I knew them.
I wonder if an American would do better. And if Canadians could do it for the provinces/territories any better than an American could for the states.
    Anyway thanks for the distraction.
Can't wait to see you in <4 months.

  • I got 46. College sports totally helped my brain remember a lot of the tough ones.

  • haha, I'm more and more impressed that I got 47 now. I knew I was catching up to AJM in the smarts department. He totally got dumber in university and I got smarter.

Sorry Cousin Jen... Out of the two phds that posted on here so far, you lost.

  • I actually think i'm getting dumber as time goes by. If you read anything written by me within the last 2 years, you'd probably run away screaming.

If i go to graduate school, I'd probably be at "WOOOO!!! THE WALM-MART's HAVIN ANOTHER SALE! GET THE KIDS!! (they will be named Madision and Scout) WE'RE GETTIN' 6 POUND JARS OF MAYONAISE!" level of discourse.

  • I thought you were going to say you'd be at the "Wal Mart is evil" level of discourse.

But now that I think about it, I think my dad bitches about Wal Mart, and I wouldn't normally describe him as a Naomi Klein light-Communist.

    Go Sweatshops Go!
