So that's why there are no boats...



I really like this river. I like that's it's empty and I like that there are a lot of bridges that go across it, but it took me over a year to figure out why there are absolutely no boats here (aside from the odd tour boat.)

A few books I've read in the past few months made me notice that the estuary of the Han River (I guess an estuary is the protected bay that usually acts as a natural port at the mouth of the river and the sea) is RIGHT ON THE NORTH/SOUTH KOREAN BORDER.... That said, it has fences and artillery and doubtless hundreds of land mines.

It took over a year to realize this because most maps don't really draw the north/south border here, or at least leave it a little vague when they can.... I blame the maps.
